There are many things that God is to us. One of them is salvation. If you ever need to be saved from any danger or destruction, God is the person to turn to.

People generally do not like going through the trouble of rescuing others from danger or from their mess. God is different; He is excited about getting you out of your trouble – especially when you have confidence in Him to do it. The Bible tells us “…the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.” (Psalm 149: 4)

Notice that when God comes to your rescue, the end result is beauty. He leaves you in better shape than He found you; and He turns you into an attraction. Is this the story about God’s salvation in your life? If not, pay attention to the phrase meek in Psalm 149:4 above. Meekness is one of the fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), and it opens the door to God’s salvation in our lives.

There are things that set apart meek people when it comes to enjoying the beauty of God’s salvation. The meek person understands these three principles about the working of God’s salvation: we are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8); we are saved by hope (Romans 8:24-25); and we are saved by the confession of our mouth (Romans 10:9-10). A meek person understands that salvation doesn’t happen by chance; it comes by having faith for God’s grace; hope in unseen solutions; and by speaking the words of God instead of the problem facing them.

These principles apply to everyone and to every form of salvation you’ll ever need. If you are lost in sin, they will work to rescue you from spiritual death and hell. If you are pressured and oppressed by the cares of life, they will work to relieve and restore your life to a place of rest and refreshment. If you are burdened by weakness and sickness, following these principles will enable you recover your strength and health.

If it is fear, debt, injustice or insecurity holding you down, follow the same three principles. That is meekness for you; and the door to the beauty of God’s salvation. Together, these three principles sum up the gospel, and faith for victorious living: “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…for therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith…”  (Romans 1:16-17)
